“The songs are about getting knocked down and getting back up again, about how it feels to keep fighting when half your brain is telling you to stop.”

The much-anticipated newest album by the internationally acclaimed band The Strumbellas, titled "Part Time Believer," is now out and available via Underneath a Mountain Records/The Orchard. Preceding singles like "Running out of Time," "My Home is You," and "Hold Me" have left a significant mark individually and collectively, and they enrich the album with spirited vibes. With "Part Time Believer," The Strumbellas once again demonstrate their innovative musical prowess, blending emotion, depth, and infectious energy in a compelling manner.

Of the album the band had this to share: “Part Time Believer is an album about the half truths we believe and the whole truths we believe half the time. There’s so many things we tell ourselves–about what we’re capable of, why we should keep going, and why we have so much to be grateful for–that we struggle to truly believe. The songs are about getting knocked down and getting back up again, about how it feels to keep fighting when half your brain is telling you to stop.”

Reflecting on the creative process, the band further expressed, “We wrote these songs together alongside friends old and new. As with all our albums, there was no concept or big idea for the album beforehand. Just a singular focus on making each song as compelling as it could be. We are obsessive about trying to remove anything that gets in the way of a good song. We hope these songs hit as hard for people listening as they do for us, and we’re so grateful that people want to hear new music and come to our shows. We know we’re the luckiest band in the world, but we only believe it part of the time.”

Since their inception in 2008 and the debut release of their album "My Father and the Hunter" in 2012, the alternative group The Strumbellas, two-time JUNO award winners, have consistently delivered subsequent albums infused with folk-inspired energy. "Part Time Believer" heralds The Strumbellas' triumphant return and evolution.

When live touring halted, The Strumbellas poured their hearts into crafting this album, spending extensive time composing and writing songs behind the scenes. The band, now led by Jimmy Chauveau, sifted through nearly 50 tracks to curate the 12 featured on "Part Time Believer." Guiding the recording process was producer Ben Allen (known for his work with Gnarls Barkley, Kaiser Chiefs, Walk the Moon), while additional tracks were produced by Keith Varon (Machine Gun Kelly, Lindsey Stirling), Stevie Aiello (Thirty Seconds To Mars), and Dave Schiffman (RHCP, The Killers, Adele). Filled with meaningful lyrics set against vibrant, folk-infused melodies, "Part Time Believer" maintains The Strumbellas' signature mood-blending style.

The Strumbellas' 15-year journey boasts over one billion streams, Gold Records across the US, France, Belgium, and Italy, #1 Billboard Alternative Airplay chart positions, iHeart Awards, and appearances on esteemed shows like Jimmy Kimmel Live!, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, and Late Night with Seth Meyers. With the release of "Part Time Believer," 2024 promises to be another successful chapter for The Strumbellas. We’re looking forward to their year ahead!

The Strumbellas are set to kick-off their North American Part Time Believer Tour tonight in Vancouver, BC.
